Overview
Due to a change in circumstances - we're now running this tour in early 2025.
If you would like to attend please send an expression of interest email to [email protected] and we will let you know the new date as soon as it's confirmed.
Who is this for?
Baristas, bar menu creators and anyone interested in absorbing a wealth of mixology knowledge.
Why should I take part?
As well as spending time with like minded colleagues, you will have an immersive skills session at Project Halcyon with General Manager and Head Mixologist Adam Taylor, followed by a tour of some of the most innovative and on trend Manchester bars. There is a chance to enhance the previous days' experiential learning with a reflection and debrief workshop at the LWC Chadderton depot. Including a products and practical session to refine the skills learned the day before, delegates will also have a chance to showcase their original ideas with a couple of creative contests!
This is a good opportunity to prepare for TUCO Competitions in 2025. However mixology and cocktails have indeed become a popular trend among university students. This surge in interest can be attributed to several factors:
Social Media Influence:
- Instagram and TikTok: These platforms have showcased visually appealing cocktails, inspiring students to experiment with their own creations.
- Influencer Culture: Many social media influencers are known for their love of cocktails, further driving the trend.
Health-Conscious Trends:
- Low-Alcohol Options: Many students are opting for lower-alcohol cocktails or mocktails, aligning with health-conscious trends.
- Authentic Ingredients: Using fresh, homemade ingredients can make cocktails a healthier choice.
Cultural Shift:
- Drinking Culture: There's a growing appreciation for quality, handcrafted drinks, which aligns with the mixology trend.
- Social Status: Knowing how to make a good cocktail can be seen as a social status symbol among certain groups.
